FAQ (THERE ARE NO SILLY QUESTIONS!)

Why do you print by hand?

I believe handcrafted products have that extra little something. My antique print press, Maude, is over 100 years old and operated with a foot pedal and leg power, and each piece of paper is fed into the press by hand, one sheet at a time. It might sound like a lot of work, but whether it's a business card or wedding invite, this manual print process gives a truly tactile finish to each item – you can feel the imprint of the design on the paper.

I'm planning my wedding, how long does it take to design and print bespoke stationery?

I advise allowing 6-8 weeks for bespoke projects, which allows time for getting the design just right before it hits the press.

I have a design of my own, can you print that?

I do undertake print-only work, so I'm more than happy to take a look at your design and advise if it's suitable for letterpress printing.

What kind of paper do you use for printing?

My go-to paper stock is Gmund Cotton. As a luxurious 100% cotton paper, it's tree free and a perfect choice for letterpress printing.

What about the environment? Are you eco-friendly?

I am committed to running an environmentally conscious studio. Running a print studio I use a lot of paper, so I make sure my paper choices are as eco-friendly as possible – only printing on 100% cotton or 100% recycled papers. My standard envelopes are 100% recycled, and all packaging sleeves are biodegradable and compostable. All studio and shipping supplies are either re-used or recycled.

DO YOU OFFER WHOLESALE?
Absolutely! If you drop me an email at hello@sarahandmaude.com with your details I'll email you a catalogue and price list. Or, you can view a pdf of my current wholesale catalogue online.

Where can I buy your products?

I'm glad you asked! You can shop online in my Etsy and Folksy shops, and you can also head to one of the fabulous retailers that stock my work – you can find a full list on the Stockists page.

DO YOU OFFER WORKSHOPS?
At the moment, sadly not. But I'm hoping that will change as soon as my small tabletop press, Millie, is refurbished and ready for action! You can sign up to the mailing list for updates so you'll be first to know when workshops begin.

Can I use your product images on my blog?

That would be lovely! Please remember to link back to the product page or homepage of the Sarah & Maude website.
